Wall hanging community project

The Parish Council alongside the craft club will be hoping to get everyone in Grindon crafting. The plan is to make a wall hanging which will hang in the village hall.
Each person can have a square (or two) and they can decorate it in any way they please. It is a base for knitting, crochet, applique, embroidery, felting or just painting with fabric paint. This means that everyone can get involved. All we ask is that the subject is something that they associate with Grindon or the surroundings. Ideas include sheep, a tractor, hay bales or cows, the church, village hall or pinfold, Thors Cave, dogs, horses, hedgehogs, bees, flowers, fields, trees …. the list is endless.
There will be some sessions in the village hall for everyone to get together and decide what their design will be and how they are going to do their square. There will be help and advice offered as well as refreshments to keep you all going. Then there will be a few more sessions to see how everyone is getting along and chance to get more help.
Once they are all finished, the squares will be sewn together and turned in to a wall hanging which will be displayed on a wall in the village hall for everyone to see. – Watch out for details once the funding is in place.
